Course Reflections: AE 481W/482

The Penn State AE senior Capstone was an opportunity for students to use all the information gathered throughout their Architectural Engineering studies and demonstrate professional engineering and construction management practices. Throughout 2015-2016 Trinity Plaza was chosen as the building to be analyzed to evaluate possible quality, value engineering, constructability solutions, schedule accelerations and cost savings identified throughout research, case studies and value engineering applications to meet owner’s expectations as well as optimizing building components to their best possible system and construction practices. The Fall Semester focused on existing conditions and components of the building structure and project, while the Spring Semester focused on the possible redesign and to best suited the project schedule and budget.

CPEP Reflection
Using the CPEP website was a great source to continuously update my research and findings in an orderly fashion. This allowed me the opportunity to assure quality of each report as well as technical functionality to make it user friendly. Last, uploading my conclusions and research in a manner that can be easily viewable for individuals interested in the project and evaluation outcome. This was a great learning experience to make a website and design it to meet the reader’s needs.
